Triste Myspace

Since I first saw the outstanding logo of this US-based one-man-band, I couldn't get it off my mind. The music that is created under banner of Triste works in the same way. Hypnotic and manipulating depressive black-metal riffs engulf you immediately and eat their way through your central nervous system. This black maelstrom is interupted abruptly now and then to give way for experimental and sometimes even punkish clean guitars that sound simultaneniously cold and desolate but also manic, schizophrenic. Some songstructures on this recording might sound chaotic in first place, but this is about authentic depression and not about writing beautiful pop-songs. You could compare Triste in a way to the swedish Hypothermia or even early Forgotten Tomb for its sombre and manipulating atmosphere. But there is certainly something unique to the melodies evoked by mastermind Hetre that is hard to put in words. Either way "Audial Suicide" lives up to its name!
